Disaster Assistance Teams (DAT) are one component of the LBNL Emergency Response Organization, an organization that provides emergency response in the event of a large-scale disaster that impacts the lab.
The DAT is comprised of lab employees who have volunteered their time to learn and use disaster response skills. DAT members typically come from one of three backgrounds: engineering (will need to complete SAP training/certification), hazardous materials safety, and fire protection.
