When Seconds Count: How LabAlert Works
| If you’ve been at the Lab for any length of time, you’ve probably received a LabAlert message. LabAlert is the technology the Lab uses to reach people during an emergency. And there are three main functions that LabAlert provides. It enables us to advise people to take protective measures such as an evacuation, lockdown, or shelter-in-place. It is also used to share time-critical operational information related to the Lab, such as a major outage. The last use is personnel accountability. We’re required by the Department of Energy to have 100% employee accountability. In this 15 minute podcast, listen as the Lab’s Ian Servin describes the why and how of LabAlert. He also shares tips on how you can customize LabAlert to personalize the notifications. LINK TO PODCAST | Running Time: 15:17 |
