Stop the Bleed is a national campaign to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

There are Stop the Bleed kits in strategic locations around the Lab that are co-located with AEDs. Kits contain a quick clot bleeding control dressing, tourniquet supplies, sterile gloves, and instructions. Become familiar with the Stop the Bleed kits closest to your location.

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can potentially stop an irregular heart beat (arrhythmia) and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly. If not treated within minutes, it quickly leads to death.
