Rules of the Road – Driver Safety at the Lab
Driving at the Lab is a privilege and you are responsible for driving safely by obeying traffic laws. Keep these essential safety guidelines in mind as you drive onsite:
Obey the Speed Limit
The speed limit onsite is 15 mph unless otherwise posted.
Stop and Yield
Stop fully at stop signs and yield to pedestrians.
Exercise Caution While in Reverse
Back up slowly and watch for other vehicles.
Stay Alert for Hazards
Watch for pedestrians and wildlife. Don’t drive distracted.
Never Pass Shuttles
Do not pass shuttles at any time.
Protect Cyclists
Maintain a safe distance from cyclists and motorcycles.
Individuals found to be in violation of the lab’s safe driving policy and/or California vehicle codes will receive a Notice of Violation, may have driving privileges suspended or revoked, and may receive further corrective action.
